The club has been in operation since commencing in 1953.

 There would be a large number of people in the Lancefield district, that have had there introduction to safe rifle shooting, at this club.

The club has four 20 meter bays for prone shooting, and four bench rest bays.

Interested persons can try out there skills, and if dedicated enough, can compete for a position in an olympic team.

Club competition is keenly contested by all members.

Monthly medals, Championship trophies are awarded each year.
